My two fashions: Gal meet and Fairy Kei haul!

This weekend I met up with some lovely Gals, Niijii, Floz and Caryn! It was a day of Purikura, food, simulator rides, bubble tea and plenty of lewd conversation. My kind of day!

I have a new style of lower lashes. It's the inner corner from the upper lashes I'm using. I'm not allowed nail varnish at work so I just quickly painted them plain ^^;

Spank / Fairy Kei shopping sites

What is Fairy Kei?
Basically, a pastel pop 80's inspired cute fashion. Staples include cute hi tops, leggings with legwarmers or socks over the top, mini skirts/bloomer, character tees/round neck sweaters and lots of cute accessories. All in many slightly clashing pastel colours!
Since images explain so much more than words with fashion, visit these:

London Chinatown food reviews - Part 1

This is the first of (hopefully) a series of Chinatown food reviews :)

Mark and I are big eaters, and especially love Chinese food ( he is half Chinese after all!) So he's been eating in Chinatown his whole life, and I've been going there since my teens with Chinese schoolfriends ^^

Intro to Ball Jointed Dolls

This is a post about my long term hobby, collecting Ball Jointed Dolls. You might have heard of them being called 'Super Dollfie' but Super Dollfies are specific dolls made by Volks, who started it all, while ABJD is the generic term :)

This is a doll I have since sold, she's a Shinydoll Kaoli ^^

Shibuhara 渋原

I'm really starting to get into Shibuhara. I love Amekaji, but I think I'm not skinny or outgoing enough to pull off a lot of the looks, so it's not suitable for my everyday look. Shibuhara is close to my heart because it's CUTE.

By definition Shibuhara isn't strictly a Gal style, since its very name means it's a mix of Shibuya (Gal, ) and Harajuku ( Kajikawaii, fairy-kei, etc) styles. So I think of it as Gal diluted with cute.

Egg often has some cute Shibuhara exposure but the bible has to be Popsister. Here are a few images I found in Popsister 2010 issues. High quality scans were found on VVshu.com. Click for full size:

The staples of this style are cartoon printed (Mickey and Snoopy) and big slogan tees, colourful plastic-frame glasses, distressed denim, knee socks, black tights with colourful shoes, uggs,hi-tops, cute scrunchies, oversize hoodies, baseball caps and geeky bags. lots of cute pastel colours and prints. Hair and make up needs to be big and beautiful to avoid looking too casual.

Key Gal brands are Candy Stripper, Wakatsuki Chinatsu, Sby, Tralala and JSG. some non-Gal brands which fit this style are Pink Latte, Milkfed and Lowry's Farm.

My Shibuhara wishlist! Click to enlarge:

Here's a recent outfit of mine. Mark drew a Clefairy on the hoodie for me and the 'uggs' are synthetic.
Mark's doing his Amekaji look :)

And on a very cold day! Knit dress is Primark and boots are from a certain cheap Chinese webshop.

I'm looking forward to exploring this style more ^^
